Bought for my sanity at family member’s house. WELL WORTH IT My mother has no idea what wi-fi is. It was terrible going to her house to have no connection. The only connection was to a single desktop computer in the office with the modem. For my own sanity I looked up the cheapest well reviewed router on Amazon and found this one. Set it up super easy and it works just fine for me and my mother who I taught to set up her phone on it.If you do this for your family member I highly recommend labeling all the cables with tape and neon sticky notes so if it gets unplugged they know what goes where. My mother had to rearrange the furniture and move it and she didn’t have any trouble plugging it back in where the labels said. I also recommend taping a note to the router saying what the IP and password is as she did forget it a few times but was able to just look at the note I put there. She likes that she can have a password on the wireless as she didn’t want people stealing her internet. For $20 you can’t beat having access to…

I give it a fair shot, but it has completely failed UPDATED REVIEW :In my original review below I gave this extender 4 stars. With it installed close to the router it seemed to be performing well in both the 2.4 and 5.0. The signal strength was good and the speed tests, as you can see below, were very acceptable. All was well, for a couple of days, and then the 5.0 began to fail. After five or six resets I gave up trying to use the 5.0 and started using the 2.4. Although not as fast it was still fast enough to keep up with anything I do. Because it’s 2.4 is faster then my other extender I was considering just keeping this one in spite of its 5.0 failure. Well, it only took a day and a half before the 2.4 followed in the footsteps of the 5.0. I didn’t buy this extender to power it on and off 5 or 6 times a day, so back it goes. My other extender, an MSRM, my not be as fast but it’s much more reliable. To the seller: If you don’t want peoples experience with this extender to turn them against trying your other products, as you…

Great product. Far exceeds my expectations. I bought this wifi extender with low expectations. I have a 3200 square foot house and thought I may need one for each floor. However, I am super happy I decided to try one at a time. Despite what I have read on some reviews, setting this thing up was a breeze and took maybe 10 minutes….max. I set it up for both bands. Then, I plugged it in on the same floor as my router and the range covers my entire house. No more dead spots and the speeds are much faster too. I couldn’t be happier. As an added benefit, my wifi now extends far into my yard as well. Very happy.
